The UK-Cyprus Enterprise Council (“UKCEC”) is pleased to announce that Ellie Patsalos has agreed to join the distinguished group of Honorary Patrons, as Robert Kyprianou takes on a governing role on the Board.

is the founder and Managing Director of Patsalos Consulting Ltd, a strategic advisory firm.
Prior to setting up her own firm, Ellie was a Senior Partner and Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP, the global professional services firm.

Robert Kyprianou
has held senior management positions in several blue-chip City organisations in a career spanning more than 30 years. These include BP, Citibank, Salomon Brothers, ABN Amro and AXA. Since retiring from executive work in 2009, Robert has moved into a number of advisory and board positions with banks, public and private companies, and endowments in the United Kingdom and in Cyprus.

Ellie and Robert bring vital expertise to the UKCEC as it embarks on an ambitious agenda for the year ahead. This is a critical year for Cyprus, and the strength of its relationship with the UK continues to be a driving force for progress. UKCEC will continue to highlight Cyprus’s growing attraction as a business and investment centre, as well as opportunities for the promotion of trade, culture and partnerships across sectors between the United Kingdom and Cyprus.

Upcoming highlights on the UKCEC agenda include an event with Henley & Partners; an Ambassadors’ networking luncheon; a seminar on the importance of transparency and corporate social responsibility; and an SME-focused symposium in Cyprus. This events series is expected to culminate in a “Gala for Enterprise” showcasing some of the best aspects of Cyprus and its people.

The Council is also one of the sponsors of ‘London to Nicosia – Art, Expression ad Connection’, an exhibition which is the brainchild of Robert Kyprianou, and which aims to link Cypriot artists of the British diaspora to their homeland; the exhibition of works by Renos Lavithis, Andrea Tyrimou, Despina Symeou and Robert Kyprianou will be hosted at the Zmart Gallery of Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum in Nicosia in April 2016 and will be opened by the High Commissioner of the UK in Cyprus , Ric Tod, in the presence of the Cyprus Minister for Education and Culture, Costas Kadis, on 6th April 2016.

Additionally, high-profile Cyprus-UK Business Forum events, organised jointly with the Council’s strategic partners on the island, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, and with the participation of the Cyprus Minister for Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, are planned for London and Edinburgh in the autumn.
