Cyprus is well positioned to become a major player in the global market for education. The island’s intellectual pedigree, its excellent public and private educational system and infrastructure, the widespread use of the English language for teaching, its attractive environment and climate and its geographic position, mark it out as an ideal place for the further development of its educational provision to domestic and, even more importantly, international students.

The island’s emphasis on education fits well with its focus on research and development, intellectual property and information and technology and the combination of these strategic strands has the potential to enable Cyprus to become a hub for the development of such industries.

The Council will explore potential opportunities to advance Cyprus’s case as a destination of choice for UK and international students and for suitable academic, educational and industry partners.
