The 2025 Vasilopita Event, which we jointly organised with Greeks in the City was a resounding success.

Held in the beautiful Crypt of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Divine Wisdom (Hagia Sophia) in Bayswater, the event marked the 21st Vasilopita hosted by Greeks in the City. This year, we co-organised the event with several distinguished organisations, including Ahepa Enfield, Ahepa Westminster, Conservative Friends of Cyprus, Cypriots in the City, Daughters of Penelope, Hellenic European Leadership Council, and the Oinoussai Benevolent Fund.

Notable guests included:

• Greg Hadjigrigoriadis, Investment Banker and Chairman of Greeks in the City Association
• Archbishop Nikitas, Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain
• H.E. Mr Yannis Tsaousis, Ambassador of Greece to the UK
• H.E. Dr Kyriacos Kouros, Cyprus High Commissioner to the UK

A highlight of the evening was, of course, the cutting of the Vasilopita, a cherished tradition symbolising blessings and good fortune for the New Year. The Vasilopita was generously provided by The Life Goddess, and the recipient of the coin was rewarded with a gift, courtesy of MyGreekRadio.

The event also underscored the spirit of giving, with all attendees encouraged to support the Cathedral’s spiritual, educational, and philanthropic ministries.
