I was delighted to meet yesterday with the new Cyprus High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, HE Dr Kyriacos Kouros, who has recently assumed his duties in London. We had a very constructive meeting and have agreed that we will work closely together to promote partnerships and trade between the UK and Cyprus and, also, the interests of our vibrant UK Cypriot community. During the meeting, I was also able to convey to the High Commissioner the Council’s wishes for a fruitful and successful tenure in this vitally important diplomatic post.
