The UK-Cyprus Enterprise Council welcomes and applauds today’s historic visit of Prime Minister Starmer to the Republic of Cyprus, the first official visit of its kind to the island by a British Prime Minister since 1971.
Sir Keir’s meeting with President Nikos Christodoulides in Nicosia is a milestone in the relationship between the two countries and illustrates Prime Minister Starmer’s political will to boost and upgrade the historically close ties between the two countries.
The Council looks forward to an even stronger and more meaningful relationship between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Cyprus in all fields and at all levels, including security, defence, trade and investments, science, education, culture and the Arts.
As an integral part of the vibrant British Cypriot community in the United Kingdom, the Council will continue to nurture and champion UK/Cyprus professional, business and cultural networks and to promote mutually beneficial initiatives between the two countries.
